Badly Packed Kebab featuring: Darkhouse Family

We've got a very special edition of the Badly Packed Kebab coming this Friday, 3rd December on Purple Radio. Dropping into the studio with a bunch of dirty beats, some banter and hopefully a few beers ('cause i'm running low) will be South Wales' production duo du jour, Darkhouse Family.

Made up of Cardiff's Don Leisure and Barry's hip-hop mainman, Metabeats, Darkhouse Family have thrown themselves to the fore of glitchy wonk-hop production styling. First catching ears with BPK-favourite, "Stay Blazed" (their contribution to Fat City's Producer #2 compilation) the duo have also received rave reviews for their debut EP, "Family Trees". They have received DJ support from Gaslamp Killer, Kutmah, Martyn, Radio 1, Ras G, Illum Sphere, Stagga, Starkey & Slugabed (to name but a few) and are currently setting out on projects with Low End Theory badman Jon Wayne and EPROM, as well as remix work for Frite Nite.

Fat City describe their sound as "shiny yet gritty with dusty records and imagination in a 21st century style. Heavy synth-work, syrupy melodies, processed sample snippets with tough kicks and hard snares in a freeform collision make their debut EP a heavyweight production"; which sums them up perfectly, and is far better than I can manage on a cold Tuesday morning.

Darkhouse Family are the perfect fit for a guest slot on the BPK, so we're chuffed they wanted to come along...and they're certain to bring some fine beats (and hopefully a few exclusives) to the Purple Radio decks. Be sure to tune in this Friday night, midnight until 2am (GMT) for what promises to be a memorable show!
